Jaffrey Clark, Carpe Diem Teacher

Jaffrey Clark

Jaffrey has been educating island children at Carpe Diem Primary for many years now. He is an alumni of both Carpe Diem Primary and Harbor School! As an avid traveller and nature enthusiast, he enjoys combining learning with his passion for the great outdoors. In addition to his experiences as an educator, Jaffrey is fluent in Spanish and majored in Hispanic Studies and International Affairs at Lewis and Clark College.

Most recently he completed a Masters in Teaching program at Pacific University in Eugene, Oregon. In addition to the program's curriculum, he pursued cultural competency training that focused on creating classrooms that celebrate and respect all forms of diversity. Teaching experiences at an international school in Santiago, Chile, and a program for students of migrant families provided the opportunity to implement these values as a teacher.
